Summary

Obsidian Order was founded during the Horizons beta. At the time, obsidian was the highest tier stone obtainable in-game and thus became the namesake of our guild.

Obsidian Order accepts adventurers and crafters of all types in its ranks. Inter-guild communications are available as well as forum areas on our website, http://obsidianorder.kalex.org.

We are one big family! All for One and One for All.

Symbolism

In heraldspeak, the guild shield (or device) is as follows: Sable, in bend two annulets conjoined argent within a bordure embattled Or.

A black field, upon which rest two conjoined silver rings from upper left to lower right, surrounded by a crenellated gold border.

But what does it mean?

Sable (black). The color of obsidian. Obsidian Order derived it’s name from the highest tier stone in Horizons during beta, obsidian. Heraldically speaking, black is a color for constancy. It is also a strong color, denoting the strength that lies just beneath the surface of our guild.

Two conjoined silver rings. These are the two circles of the guild: adventurers and crafters. They are conjoined because the crafters rely on the adventurers for defense and the adventurers rely on the crafters for weapons and armor. There is a gap in the conjunction, where both adventurers and crafters are linked. Rings are also symbolic of fidelity. The rings are laying in diagonal (in bend). A diagonal positioning signifies protection and defense. The color silver denotes peace and sincerity.

A gold embattled border. Embattlement/crenellation is a symbol of community, fortitude, and strength. Using this as a border as an encompassing factor demonstrates our strength together being far greater than that of a single individual. It demonstrates our strong ties and bonds with one another. Gold is the color of generosity.

Our goals are to provide each member with a plot or lair and outfit them. Everyone is expected to donate time and effort to meet these goals.

Public Channel

Obsidian Order's public channel is Order Alliance. Formed originally on Dawn shard, Order Alliance was created originally as a public channel for the Obsidian Order and Luna Mediae Noctis guilds. Later, the Lost Order of Akalabeth and Sacred Order of the Hospitaller guilds also joined this public channel in a mutual alliance. Together, the channel name chaned from OO-LMN to OO-LMN-LOA and finally to Order Alliance, as Luna Mediae Noctis merged into Obsidian Order. After merger, Sacred Order of the Hospitaller merged in with the Knights of Istaria and the Lost Order of Akalabeth merged in with Obsidian Order as well. However, the name of the channel remained as Order Alliance.
