Character History
Nitino is a hatchling from humble origins. He hatched late, almost a week after his older brother Giran hatched, in the family lair located in Eastern Char.
The young dragon, however, cannot recall many details of his past. Nitino believes that he was waiting for 'someone' when he was attacked and killed, not by the weapons or claws of his assailant, but by falling and fatally injuring his head on the jagged volcanic rocks surrounding his home. Nitino usually also attributes his current problems with memory loss to this event, though if a healer were to examine him, they would find no traces of the injury to explain his seemingly random bouts of forgetfulness. Nitino also suffers an inexplicable inability to focus for long periods of time, and his thought proccesses are consistently random and erratic, often comically so, but occassionally darker, even murderous at points.
He frequently suffers from delusions and hallucinations, or long periods of confusion, headaches, rage and sorrow. Nitino is known to have severe panic attacks when he gets lost.
Nitino does, however, have brief moments of calm and clarity, but sudden movements and noises can very easily jerk him back into his usual inner confusion, which has always been the case. Nitino has never been able to communicate with anyone while in a moment of calm.
The young dragon can briefly recall trying to return to his family lair, but finding it long abandoned with no evidence of panic or invasion. He has since taken to wandering aimlessly, seemingly cheerful if bizarre, but when Nitino is clear of mind and can be himself, he only mourns everything he's lost.
And wonders what truly caused him to lose it.
Physical Description
Nitino is a short but stocky male hatchling. His scales are a deep grey-black in colour, with turquoise-blue markings running down the length of his body. His underbelly is lined with white scales. Nitino has a short, rounded snout and two long white horns; his face is also decorated with numerous black frills which he can move--when angered or frightened, they fold out completely, and when sad or submissive, they fold back and make him appear smaller. In a normal mood his frills are held in a casual 'middle' position.
